Setting up iCloud for Automatic Backups
Automatic backups are a great way to keep your Apple device in working order. With backups, your device is able to be restored in the event that the software fails
Prerequisites: Must own an Apple Device (iPhone, Mac, etc.)
Difficulty Level: Member • Nerd • Platypus
Estimated Time: 5 minutes
Expected Outcome: Your device will be set to automatically backup
Tools Required: No physical tools will be needed

On an iPhone
Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > scroll down to iCloud Backup > enable Backup
On a Mac
Go to the Apple Menu > select System Preferences > choose the Time Machine icon (picture below) > click Select Backup Disk > select the name of your external drive from the list > check the Backup Automatically box
Note that you will need an external HDD to act as your backup for the Mac (physical storage working in parallel with iCloud)
