Sometimes Apple devices will "kick you out" of using email. Often times the solution is to re-verify your email address in the OS settings. This guide will show you how to do this on iPhones and iPads
Prerequisites: Email on an Apple device not being able to be refreshed, even manually
Difficulty Level: Member • Nerd • Platypus
Estimated Time: 5-10 Minutes
Expected Outcome: Your email will be re-verified and your email working as it should be
Tools Required: Your Apple device, an internet connection, and your email passwords
If Apple Prompts You
This is the most common method, as Apple will normally sent a push notification to your main screen telling you that your email needs to be re-verified.
-
Follow the "Settings" option and it should take you to settings>accounts
-
Select the account you need to re-verify
-
Once you're to the account, it will be grayed out and will have only one option at the bottom to re-verify
-
From here log in as if you were setting up the email on the phone for the first time, normally though, it is simply just re-entering your email address and password
If Apple Does Not Prompt You
While this is unlikely to happen, it is possible. The good news is this follows the same steps as before, but just with you navigating to Settings first!
- Open Settings and select Accounts (settings>accounts)
-
Select the account you need to re-verify
-
Once you're to the account, it will be grayed out and will have only one option at the bottom to re-verify
-
From here log in as if you were setting up the email on the phone for the first time, normally though, it is simply just re-entering your email address and password
