How to troubleshot a black screen on Xfinity cable box

A common problem users may run into while using an Xfinity cable box is turning on your TV and only see a black screen on your cable box input

Prerequisites: An Xfinity cable box that has been setup and worked correctly at some point

Tools Required: Your Xfinity remote

Expected Outcome: You will be able to watch TV again

Steps to Perform 

1. On your Xfinity remote, press the TV Power button in the upper right-hand corner so that your TV powers on
2. Once the TV is on, if you see a black screen press the power button located on the top of the Xfinity cable box.
3. Your should now see your cable TV. From now on make sure to use the All Power button on the upper left-hand corner of the Xfinity remote to turn your TV on and off
