How to Set a Default Startup Page on Google Chrome

Google Chrome has the ability to be configured to open to specific pages for a better user experience. This Gizmo Guide outlines the process of setting it up

Prerequisites: Must be using Google Chrome

Expected Outcome: Your Google Chrome will open to a specific page, defined by you

Tools Required: The page you would like Google Chrome to open to's URL, Google Chrome

Steps to Perform 

  1. Copy the URL (Right click and select Copy or highlight the URL and press CTRL+C) of the webpage you'd like your startup website to be
  2. Go to the three dots in the top right corner of your Google Chrome window
  3. Select Settings from the dropdown options

  4. Select On Startup on the left side options

  5. Select Open a Specific Page

  6. Select Add a New Page
  7. Paste the link (Right click and select Paste or highlight the URL and press CTRL+V) of the startup page you'd like Google Chrome to open to

Double check that it has worked by closing out of Google Chrome and re-opening the application, it should open to the specific page you just set up!
