How to install Proton VPN on Windows

Install Proton's VPN client on your Windows PC with this guide

Prerequisites: A proton VPN subscription

Difficulty Level: Member • Nerd • Platypus

Estimated Time: 5 minutes

Expected Outcome: You will have the Proton VPN client installed on your computer

Tools Required: A Windows PC

1. Download the Proton VPN Windows client here
2. Navigate to the directory you downloaded the installer to and execute it
   
   1. If a new window pops up asking “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?”, click ‘Yes’
   2. If installing for the first time, the OpenVPN TAP adapter installation will appear. In the window, click ‘Next >
   3. During the installation process, installation of Windows .NET might be required as well. If prompted, follow the instructions to install Windows .NET as well.
3. Click I Agree then click next
4. Click Install
5. Once the installer is finished the Proton VPN client will open and you can begin using it
