How to Enable File and Printer Sharing Windows 10

If you want to share files or printers with other users on your network follow this guide

Prerequisites: A printer or directory on your computer setup to share

Difficulty Level: Member • Nerd • Platypus

Estimated Time: 3 Minutes

Expected Outcome: You will now be able to share files and printers with other users on the same network

Tools Required: A PC running Windows 10

Steps to Perform 

  1. Right-click on the network icon on the taskbar and click "Open Network & Internet Settings"

    1. Scroll down and click "Network and Sharing Center"

    2. Click on "change advanced sharing settings"

    3. From here you can turn file and printer sharing on and off

    If you are on a Private network be sure to enable file and printer sharing under the Private section. If you are an a Guest or Public network enable file and printer sharing under the Guest or Public section
