How to Create Virtual Wireless Networks on FreshTomato Router

You can create multiple wireless networks that users can connect to on a router running FreshTomato firmware

Prerequisites: A supported router running FreshTomato

Steps to Perform 

  1. Log into the FreshTomato WebUI
    1. The default IP address is 192.168.1.1
    2. The default username is root
    3. The default password is admin
  2. From the sidebar click Advanced and click Virtual Wireless
  3. In the Virtual Wireless page select the interface you want to use

    1. w.0x is the 2.4GHz radio and w.1x is the 5.0 GHz radio
  4. Check the Enabled box
  5. Input an SSID
  6. Choose the mode
    1. Access Point should be fine for most people
  7. Set the Bridge to your LAN
    1. If you want a guest network then you will need to create a second LAN. See this guide on how to do that (http://kb.gizmocaresinc.com/en/add-a-lan-on-a-freshtomato-router)
  8. Your new entry should look something like this
  9. Once it is configured click Add then scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save
