Read, write, and transfer files to external storage with using you iPhone

Expected Outcome: You will be able to use your external storage device with your iPhone
Tools Required: An external storage device with lightning connectivity or a USB to lightning adapter
- Connect your USB storage to the charging port on your iPhone
- If your USB device does not have lightning connectivity you will need to Lighting to USB Camera Adapter or the Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter.
- Please note that the USB 3 Camera Adapter has an external power connector which may be required for some storage devices
- Your USB drive must also have only one partition and formatted as. FAT, FAT32, exFAT, or APFS
- If your USB device does not have lightning connectivity you will need to Lighting to USB Camera Adapter or the Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter.
- Once your device is connected you can use the Files app to explore the contents of the drive or another supported application
