How to check laptop battery health

The maximum capacity of your laptop's battery degrades overtime. Check the maximum capacity using this guide

Windows:

1. Download HWiNFO and install or extract depending on the version you choose
2. Run HWiNFO64.exe if you have a 64 bit machine or HWiNFO32.exe for a 32 bit machine
3. From the panel on the left, select Smart Battery then select your battery
4. The battery capacity will be listed on the right panel

Mac OS

1. Click the Apple logo in the upper left hand corner and select System Preferences from the drop down
2. From the System Preferences windows select Battery
3. From the battery window click on the Battery tab on the left of the window
4. Click Battery Health at the bottom of the window and a dialog with the maximum capacity will be displayed
