How to change DNS server on FreshTomato

Change the DNS server assigned to clients the connect to your FreshTomato router

Prerequisites: A router with FreshTomato installed

Difficulty Level: Member • Nerd • Platypus

Estimated Time: 5 - 10 minutes

Expected Outcome: Clients will be assigned the new DNS server

Tools Required: A FreshTomato router

Steps to Perform

  1. Log into the FreshTomato WebUI
    1. The default IP address is 192.168.1.1
    2. The default username is root
    3. The default password is admin
  2. Click on Basic then Network
    1. Under WAN0 look for DNS and select Manual
    2. Enter the DNS server you wish to use. Here were are using 1.1.1.1 which is CloudFlare
    3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Save to save your new DNS settings
