How to Clear Paper Jams in HP Envy Printer

If your HP Envy printer shows an error message about a jam these are the steps recommended to remove any debris causing the jam.

Prerequisites: Knowledge of where the paper tray and ink cartridge access area is

Difficulty Level: Member • Nerd • Platypus

Estimated Time: Approximately 5 minutes 

Expected Outcome: Printer cleared of jam and able to resume printing

Tools Required: HP Envy printer 

Steps to Perform 

1. Pull out paper tray and output tray to see if jam is found here
2. Turn off and unplug printer to prevent accidental electric shock
3. Raise the cartridge access door
   
4. Remove paper path cover by pinching the tabs together and lifting
   
5. Locate the jammed debris and slowly guide it out of the printer, careful not to rip or tear it
6. Replace paper path cover
7. Close the cartridge access door
8. Plug printer back in and turn on, making sure printer no longer shows jam error
9. Test by sending a document to the printer
