Block unwanted text messages on iPhone

Take a look at how you can block unwanted messages from known or unfamiliar numbers on your iPhone.

Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of Messaging app on iPhone

Expected Outcome: Number is blocked so no further messages can be delivered from it.

Tools Required:  Apple iPhone that is on current software version

Steps to Perform 

1. Pull up the Messaging app
2. Click on the message/number you want to block
3. Look at the number at the top of the message and click the arrow next to it or the word 'Details' if that's available
4. Select the blue icon that looks like an 'i' with a
5.  circle around it at the top right
6. Hit the same icon on the next screen that comes up
7. Scroll to the very bottom and select "Block this Caller"
8. Select it again when the confirmation pop-up comes up
