Why This is Needed

Hard drives not recoverable through traditional means need expert help to be recovered. Our NNI Preferred Vendors are experts in hard drive data recovery.

Prerequisites

  • Broken hard drive
  • Confirmation from Preferred Vendor that work is possible

Information to Gather (Questions)

  • What data needs recovered.
  • Any specific files that need to be recovered.
  • If there is a timeframe this must be finished in.

Tools Required

  • Cardboard box
  • Bubble wrap/packing materials

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Steps to take

  • Member drops off device with hard drive inside
  • Vendor contacted to confirm that hard drive recovery is possible
  • Vendor approval received
  • Member contacted and informed of plan
  • Member approval received
  • Hard drive is removed by qualified Nerd
  • Hard drive packaged in a correctly sized box with plenty of bubble wrap or other packaging material.
  • Schedule repair with vendor.
  • Attach preferred vendor address to box and take to post office for shipping.
  • Wait for successful recovery by vendor and retrieve hard drive and data from post office once sent back.
  • Update ticket information with all updates.
  • Update Member with results of hard drive recovery
  • Reinstall hard drive to device by qualified Nerd.
  • Member informed that device is ready for pickup.
  • Member picks up device in MC, signs drop off sheet
  • Happy Member!
